Igor Bondino

Reservoir Engineer - Recovery Mechanisms Laboratories - Centre Scientifique et Technique Jean Féger - Total E&P

Background and interest:

Igor Bondino is a reservoir engineer and digital rock physics (DRP) specialist with TOTAL. He holds a M.Sc. degree in physics from Trieste University, Italy, and a PhD degree in petroleum engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, for research on pore-scale simulation of pressure depletion in porous media covering aspects of gas bubble nucleation, growth and bubble migration under viscous and gravitational gradients. In 2005 he joined TOTAL, first at the Geoscience Research Centre in Aberdeen, UK, then at the main Scientific and Technical Centre in Pau, France. In TOTAL, he has been interested in multi-phase flow pore scale simulation, in the study of polymer flooding and low salinity water injection using both simulation and experimental techniques, in 2D NMR inversion and forward modelling and in developing 2D/ 3D image analysis tools for pore scale flow characterisation.
